I wont include Akhtar.. A guy who is dropped from his own team for lack of a cricketing attitude and discipline cannot make it to the World XI..

Sorry about the no. of people - the two other guys I would include are Smith and Kumble..

    Difference in squads
    Sudhindra - Pollock, Irfan
    Tanzeem - Akhtar, Sarwan

Akhthar, I would not consider him even from the outset because as I said before, a guy who has been left out of his own team doesnot deserve a place anywhere else, leave alone an elite group such as the World XI. He is an asset like the way you have described but those who lack cricketing attitude, I wont even consider even if he is the no.1 match winner present. In fact, he might even be detrimental to the team.

That way who should have been there and who should have not been is a different topic altogether for the simple reason that there might be some very interesting options that may have been left out such as Atapattu, Jayawardene, Andy Flower, Stephen Fleming etc.

I dont see Sarwan in the final XI and that is the main reason I have not picked him for the 20.

Pollock, I think has something to offer in this high profile game in terms of his experience. No doubt he has lost pace but I still think he can contribute with his experience alone. He may not be in my final XI or 13 for that matter but I feel he deserves a place in the 20. Note that the experience factor is lacking in the pace bowling dept. in the squad of 30.

Irfan, yes, he has a lot of catching up to do. But against Australia he has performed and I feel he might be able to do some kinda damage to the mighty Aussie batting. That way I would pick Naved in front of him if he fails to deliver consistently but I want to keep the bowling attack strong.

The reason I have one lesser batsman than you have is the batting is legendary plus we have Flintoff, Kallis , Sangakkara who are very good and Boucher and Vettori who can do their job... So I dont see the need to take Sarwan in the 20 at all.

The bowling needs some help and I think thats why I have one more there...

hmm... I agree that Kallis is good but I think as an allrounder Flintoff would suit better.. As I told you, the batting card is stuffed with great batsmen so no need to stuff it again with Kallis..There is no point including him if he is not playing...

On the other hand, Vaughan has performed well against Australia and he may be the chosen captain if he makes it to the 11..

Akthar - Same argument here... from my side... If he harms cricket, there is no place for him in any form of cricket... players belong to cricket, not cricket to players.. so it is their duty to respect and abide by the laws and morality of the game...
